Tor v3 Migration Complete — Update Your Bookmarks Now

All legacy Tor v2 onion addresses deprecated. Platform runs exclusively on v3 addresses with stronger Ed25519 cryptography. Users must update bookmarks.

Migration Complete: Tor v3 Onion Exclusively Live

The migration from Tor v2 to exclusively v3 onion addresses is complete. All legacy v2 .onion URLs have been formally deprecated and will no longer resolve. All users must update their bookmarks to the verified v3 addresses on the access page.

v2 vs v3

Tor v2 addresses (16 characters) used SHA-1 hashing and 1024-bit RSA keys — now considered inadequate. SHA-1 has known practical collision attacks. Tor v3 addresses (56 characters) use Ed25519 elliptic curve cryptography and SHA3-256 hashing, providing 128-bit security with stronger resistance to timing attacks and enumeration.

Action Required

Update your bookmarks from old short-format addresses to the verified v3 addresses. Users who attempt to connect to old v2 addresses will find them unresolvable — this is correct and expected behaviour. All current Tor Browser versions support v3.
